Recommendations

		In principle no antibiotics. Dental intervention and drainage are indicated.

Indications: with spreading infiltrate or warning symptoms (such as fever, difficulty swallowing, trismus)

	amoxicillin + clavulanic acid oral 600/125 mg three times daily for at least 5 days
	clindamycin oral 600 mg three times daily for at least 5 days	In case of penicillin allergy

Only indicated in case of fever and regional lymphadenopathy or with perforation of the bony cortex and spread to the surrounding soft tissues.

Duration depends on the clinical course.

Dental or surgical drainage.
