Use albendazole during pregnancy and breastfeeding: probably safe during pregnancy (2nd and 3rd trimesters) and while breastfeeding.
Albendazole is licensed for children from 6 years of age. In children between 1 and 6 years, albendazole has been used extensively worldwide and may be considered (Keijzer et al).
Take albendazole with a fatty meal (increased absorption).
There are insufficient data on the use of ivermectin during pregnancy and lactation in humans to assess possible harmful effects. Safety has not been established in children < 15 kg.
