Indications: No surgery, no trauma with skull fractures

	ceftriaxone IV 2000 mg twice daily for at least 6 weeks + metronidazole IV 500 mg three times daily for at least 6 weeks

Indications: After surgery and/or trauma with skull fractures
	Dosage	Remarks
	flucloxacillin IV 12 g continuous over 24 hours + ceftazidime IV 2000 mg three times daily for at least 6 weeks + metronidazole IV 500 mg three times daily for at least 2 weeks	Loading dose: 2 gram flucloxacillin bolus, then continuous infusion. If continuous infusion is not possible: flucloxacillin 2 g six times daily.
