Praziquantel: take during or shortly after the evening meal. Safety in pregnancy, lactation and in children <4 years has not been sufficiently studied.
Treatment advice also applies to tapeworm infection with Diphyllobothrium spp. and Dypilidium caninum
Chemotherapeutics are not effective against the eggs of the tapeworm.
