Indications: - Recent exposure (<48 hours) to a confirmed influenza case in a patient (still asymptomatic) at very high risk of a complicated course: • patients with severely reduced immunity, for example after stem cell or organ transplantation • patients with severe liver or kidney failure or serious cardiac or pulmonary conditions, who despite medication have a high risk of decompensation • frail elderly Always consider the benefits and risks, given that there are side effects and costs associated.
Treatment: Oseltamivir 75 mg once daily for 10 days.
